Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a proactive frontline associate to deliver an outstanding customer experience in a fast-paced department. You will help customers, answer questions about products, and keep the area clean and well stocked to ensure a welcoming shopping environment.

You will support the department manager in hitting sales and profit targets, adhere to safety and quality standards, and participate in merchandising, labeling, and inventory tasks while upholding the company's values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
• High school diploma or equivalent (as stated).
• Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing (desirable).

Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.

• Ensure that all current merchandising, customer service, cash control, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, associate and customer engagement rules are being followed.
• Promote sales through intercom announcements.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
