Position Overview

Bronson QuickCare Plus in Battle Creek, MI seeks an Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an on‑call team that operates 7 days a week. The role involves delivering diverse health‑care services to patients aged 3 months and older with minor illnesses and injuries. The position is hospital‑employed with variable hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive, problem‑focused histories and physical examinations.
• Interpret laboratory and radiologic test results, correlating objective and subjective data to formulate diagnoses.
• Under physician direction, review findings and develop treatment plans within the scope of practice.
• Provide care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges, including licensure and DEA prescription authority.
• Utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and other relevant software programs.
• Communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing (using SBAR technique). Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, finance, management, and external stakeholders such as patients and third‑party payers.
• Assume concurrent clinical management duties, coordinating care to facilitate patient progress toward outcomes, including discharge or transfer.
• Provide clinical resources for the multidisciplinary team, including assertive coordination and identification of common patient complications.
• Assist in developing and integrating quality measures and evidence into clinical practice.
• Perform initial comprehensive assessments for utilization review, determining appropriate intensity of service and facilitating transitions to higher levels of care when needed.
• Evaluate laboratory, EKG, imaging studies, and complete documentation for billing, medical care, orders, and progress notes.
• Remain available for nursing questions and to evaluate status changes for patients.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current, unrestricted licensure in the state of Michigan (and DEA license if prescribing. )
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.
• Experience in ambulatory outpatient, ED, or urgent care settings (minimum 1 year).
• Ability to operate under physician oversight and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Shift & Working Hours

Variable schedule with a weekly average of 10 hours. Shift includes nights, weekends, and holidays. The role requires regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting of light weight objects.
