Job summary

Sanford is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with advanced certifications to provide orthopedic, trauma, and musculoskeletal care. The role requires ND licensure and board certification AGACNP‑BC or ACNPC‑AG, with experience in coordinating complex patient care and maintaining comprehensive care plans.

Responsibilities include developing evidence-based treatment plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing on‑call coverage as needed while upholding safety and infection control

Qualifications

• Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited NP program.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing if licensed prior to August 1, 1995.
• Experience in orthopedic surgery, trauma, or musculoskeletal care preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
• State Controlled Substance License (if required by State).
• National board certification as an AGACNP‑BC or ACNPC‑AG.

• Adheres to established internal standards and procedures abstracted from HIPAA.
• Analyze and interpret patients’ histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
• Build rapport with the patient and explain the condition and course of action effectively.
• Coordinate and manage care for patients, including those with complex needs.
• Deliver written and oral communication, respond to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact.
• Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships within and outside of own area.
• Help promote collaboration across generations, functions, regions, and levels.
• Maintain complete and detailed records of patients’ health care plans and prognoses.
• Maintain departmental policies and procedures in areas such as safety and infection control.
• Perform quality control and maintain a high standard in relation to infection control mechanisms for patient safety.
• Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence, and efficacy.
• Promote a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors and work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for patients.
• Provide on‑call coverage outside of regularly scheduled hours.

• Experience in orthopedic surgery, trauma, or musculoskeletal care preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
• State Controlled Substance License (if required by State).
• National board certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP‑BC) or (ACNPC‑AG), Acute Care Adult (ACNP‑BC).
• Additional certifications (Family FNP‑BC or FNP‑C, Adult‑Gerontology Primary Care AGPCNP‑BC or A‑GNP, Adult ANP‑C) require approval from a market executive leader.
• Obtain and subsequently maintain required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on the privilege form.
