Job description

Location: Oncology Consultants

Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $170,000.00

KPA 1 – Inpatient support
  • Conduct hospital rounds.
  • Assist with admissions and discharges.
  • Provide on‑call support.
KPA 2 – Assessment
  • Assess the physical and mental condition of patients through comprehensive or problem‑focused physical examinations and medical histories.
  • Order, collect, interpret and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health‑care needs.
  • Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.
  • Refer patient to appropriate sources of care as clinically indicated.
KPA 3 – Documentation
  • Counsel patients concerning medical and psychological/psychiatric conditions, treatment plans and behavior modification.
  • Maintain appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Initiate timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise.
  • Capture charges in a timely manner.
KPA 4 – Communication
  • Effectively communicate with admitting and referring team.
  • Triage and respond to all forms of communication in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Qualifications / Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program; Master’s degree required.
  • APRN or PA license in the appropriate state; prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply; maintain board certification; current BLS.
  • Minimum five years experience as APRN or PA, oncology required.
