APP Hospitalist - Oncology - Westside page is loaded## APP Hospitalist - Oncology - Westsidelocations: US-TX-Houstontime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR6506**Location:**Oncology Consultants**Pay Range:**$80,000.00 - $170,000.00## Join Oncology Consultants - as a FT APP Hospitalist!**KPA 1 – Inpatient support** • Conduct hospital rounds. • Assist with admissions and discharges. • Provide on-call support.**KPA 2 – Assessment** • Assess the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining a comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories. • Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs. • Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. • Refer patient to appropriate sources of care as clinically indicated. **KPA 3 – Documentation** • Ability to counsel patients concerning medical and psychological/psychiatric conditions, treatment plans, and behavior modification. • Maintain appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. • Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds the scope of practice and /or expertise. • Capture charges in a timely manner.**KPA 4 – Communication** • Effectively communicate with admitting and referring team. • Triage and respond to all forms of communication in a timely manner. • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.**Position Qualifications/Requirements****1. Education:*** Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program* Master’s degree required**2. Certifications/Licenses:*** APRN or PA license in appropriate state* Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply* Maintain Board Certification* Current BLS**3. Previous Experience:*** Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, Oncology required**4. Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.* Communication Skills: Good command of the English language. Second language is an asset but not required. Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.* Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: Strong customer focus.
