Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a skilled PHP/WordPress developer to build and maintain features on an enterprise WordPress multisite platform serving global financial services content. You will develop custom PHP plugins and Gutenberg/Block Editor blocks (React) for fund and product data, and implement responsive SCSS/CSS across multiple themes for site variants.

You will integrate with third‑party APIs, work across local, dev, test and production environments on WordPress VIP, and

Qualifications

• Proficient in PHP and WordPress plugin/theme development.
• Experience with WordPress multisite setup and management.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) skills with React for Gutenberg blocks.
• SCSS/CSS and responsive front-end implementation.
• Experience across local, dev, test, and production environments.
• Git, branching strategies, and code review experience.
• Familiarity with Composer and npm-based tooling.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira.
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants as part of daily workflow.

Responsibilities

Your opportunity

• Build and maintain features on an enterprise WordPress multisite platform serving global financial services content across regional sites
• Develop custom PHP plugins and Gutenberg/Block Editor blocks (React) for fund/product data display and content management workflows
• Implement frontend designs using SCSS and JavaScript across multiple themes for different site variants
• Integrate with third‑party APIs and services including digital asset management, marketing automation, and SSO providers
• Debug and resolve issues across local Docker, dev, test, and production environments on WordPress VIP
• Collaborate with designers, content editors, and engineers to scope and deliver features
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills

• Proficient in PHP and WordPress plugin/theme development
• Experience with WordPress multisite
• JavaScript (ES6+) including React for Gutenberg/Block Editor block development
• SCSS/CSS and responsive design implementation
• Comfortable working across multiple environments (local, dev, test, production)
• Experience with Git, branching strategies, and code review
• Able to work independently, manage your own tasks, and communicate blockers early
• Familiarity with Composer and npm‑based build tooling
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira for sprint planning, story tracking, and backlog grooming
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) as part of daily development workflow

Nice to have skills

• WordPress VIP platform experience
• PHP Unit testing
• Experience in a regulated industry (financial services, healthcare, etc.)
• Veracode or other application security scanning tools
• Experience working with third‑party REST APIs (consuming endpoints, handling auth, basic debugging)
• Experience working in Agile work environment.

Compensation information

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This will be posted through June 28, 2025.

Annual Bonus Opportunity

Position may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool. The profit pool is funded based on Company profits. Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
