POSITION PURPOSE

Develops and deploys complex data-driven web applications. Works within a scrum team to bring designs and ideas to life for new or improved web applications. Works with clients, product managers, architects, software engineers, and cross-functional teams to develop, test, and implement impactful solutions.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Crafts a seamless app journey, from backend logic to polished frontend.

  • Contributes to code development in projects and services.

  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, and corrects existing software application problems.

  • Develops system test criteria cooperatively with other programmers and user departments.

  • Transitions code to Quality Assurance (QA) and collaborates with QA team to resolve code bugs.

  • Collaborates with programmers to ensure compatibility and interoperation with other subsystems.

  • Participates in the product development process to ensure the best solution is deployed.

  • Develops scalable and reliable systems capable of processing terabytes of data per hour.

  • Optimizes data processing, storage, and retrieval systems to handle large amounts of data efficiently and cost effectively.

  • Assists data analysts to locate, extract, combine, transform, and process large data sets.

  • Develops metrics, investigates data, and identifies trends to make informed decisions.

  • Prototypes, evaluates, and iterates on software solutions to hard problems.

  • Scales data pipelines from internal and external data sources to support new product launches and drive data quality across data products.

  • Builds automation and monitoring frameworks.

  • Researches, tests, and implements modern app development technologies.

  • Participates in development of initial architectural schemes.


SAFETY


  • Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.

  • Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.

  • Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

  • Knowledge of full-stack engineering, displaying both backend mastery and frontend finesse.

  • Knowledge of Web protocols and programming requirements including modern client-side programming technology and web programming standards for client-side development.

  • Knowledge of software engineering, best practices, and industry standards.

  • Skill in troubleshooting difficult issues that may require extensive research, as well as considering all aspects of an issue including hardware, software, network, security issues, and potential programming issues.

  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Ability to develop software code efficiently using Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

  • Ability to utilize front-end, scripting, and back-end technologies.

  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative teams, including teams from other departments.

  • Ability to use and understand data processing flowcharting techniques.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical data, in order to summarize for technical and nontechnical employees, as well as, senior management.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency required;
    Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in a related field preferred.

  • Certification/License: None.

  • Experience: 3-7 years' experience working with app development technologies required.
