Responsibilities

The APPs have advanced knowledge and skills that qualify them to function as a primary health care provider. They serve as a member of a collaborative health care team. Key responsibilities include:

• Determining patient’s health and medical status by taking a health history
• Performing physical exams
• Initiating screening and diagnostic procedures
• Providing health maintenance services
• Managing pregnancy, minor trauma, acute illnesses, and stable chronic illness
• Consulting with physicians as appropriate, keeping physicians informed of needs and problems related to patient care

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Experience: 0 years of relevant experience (Immediate start)
• Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP), DEA license, Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations.
• Other: Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers, good written and oral communication skills, computer literacy for electronic medical records.
