Job summary

Omegahires is seeking an API engineer to design, build, configure, and deploy API proxies using Google Apigee. The role emphasizes implementing security and traffic policies, transforming requests and responses, and caching for optimal performance.

You will integrate APIs with backend systems and third-party services, configure OAuth 2.0 and API keys, and develop reusable components and shared flows. Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Google Apigee API management and API proxy development.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, and XML.
• Experience with Apigee policies, flows, fault handling, and backend integrations.
• Understanding of API security, OAuth 2.0, API keys, and access control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and deploy API proxies using Google Apigee.
• Implement API policies for security, traffic management, request/response transformation, caching, and fault handling.
• Integrate APIs with backend services, enterprise applications, and third-party systems.
• Configure authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0 and API key validation where applicable.
• Develop reusable API components, shared flows, and common policies.
• Troubleshoot API proxy issues, backend connectivity, performance bottlenecks, and deployment failures.
• Implement API monitoring, logging, analytics, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate directly with clients, business stakeholders, and development teams to gather requirements and deliver API solutions.
• Maintain API documentation, deployment procedures, and technical specifications.
