Responsibilities

• Define microservices architecture standards and decomposition strategies aligned with domain-driven design.
• Lead modernization of legacy monoliths into independently deployable services with clear ownership.
• Architect resilient distributed systems with circuit breakers, retries, bulkheads, and graceful degradation.
• Define data ownership, transactional boundaries, and patterns like outbox/saga/CQRS where appropriate.
• Lead design of platform capabilities including service mesh, API gateway, identity propagation, and observability.
• Drive performance engineering, capacity planning, and scalability analysis across critical service domains.
• Establish CI/CD, testing, and deployment standards for high-frequency, low-risk releases.
• Define observability standards including structured logging and distributed tracing.
• Collaborate with security teams to embed zero-trust, secrets management, and runtime protection.
• Mentor engineers and tech leads on microservices best practices and anti-patterns.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on service design across teams.
• Continuously evaluate emerging cloud-native technologies for adoption.

Job Summary

We are seeking a seasonedMicroservices Architectto lead the design and evolution of large-scale microservices ecosystems built on modern container platforms and cloud-native technology stacks. The role requires deepexpertisein service decomposition, domain-driven design, distributed data management, and runtime concerns such as resilience, observability, and security at scale. The ideal candidate brings hands-on architectural leadership across complex transformations, with a clear point of view on when microservices are the right answer, how to evolve them safely, and how to keep the resulting estate maintainable over the long term.

Key Responsibilities:

• Definemicroservicesarchitecture standards, service boundaries, and decomposition strategies aligned with domain-driven design principles.
• Lead the modernization of legacy monoliths into well-bounded, independently deployable services with clear ownership.
• Design service communication patternsleveragingREST,gRPC, asynchronous messaging, and event streaming asappropriate.Establish API contracts, schema governance, and versioning strategies that enable safe evolution of services over time.
• Architect resilient distributed systems incorporating circuit breakers, retries, bulkheads, and graceful degradation patterns.
• Define data ownership models, transactional boundaries, and patterns such as outbox, saga, and CQRS whereappropriate.
• Lead the design of platform capabilities including service mesh, API gateway, identity propagation, and shared observability.
• Drive performance engineering, capacity planning, and scalability analysis across critical service domains.
• Establish CI/CD, testing, and deployment standardsoptimizedfor high-frequency, low-risk service releases.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Computer Scienceora relateddiscipline.
• Eight or more years of software engineering experience, with several years in architecture roles.
• Deepexpertiseinmicroservicesdesign, domain-driven design, and distributed systems patterns.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies.
• Proficiencyin at least one major backend language such as Java, Go, or C#.
• Strong understanding of API design, event-drivenarchitectures, and asynchronous messaging.
• Experience operating high-traffic, latency-sensitive systems in production.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and managed services across at least one major provider.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architecture initiatives spanning multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with platform engineering and internaldeveloperplatform construction.
• Familiarity with Istio,Linkerd, Envoy, or comparable service mesh technologies.
• Exposure to FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization at scale.
• Public speaking, open-source contributions, or published technical writing.
• Experience in regulated industries with strict compliance requirements.
