Job summary

Arctic Testing & Inspection (ATI) is seeking a Nested API 510/570/653/CWI Inspector to support inspection activities at a client facility in the greater Houston area.

This position reports to the Houston office and is responsible for performing API inspections, supporting NDE activities, and assisting with the mechanical integrity of piping systems and related equipment while ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes, customer requirements, and company standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• API 510/570/653 and CWI certifications preferred.
• TWIC Card required.
• Valid drivers license with clean record.
• Knowledge of API codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections per API standards.
• Assist with external inspections of process equipment.
• Review P&IDs and reflect field conditions.
• Input data in PCMS.
• Support Unit Inspectors with borescope inspections, PT, UTT, PMI.
• Attend progress meetings and safety meetings.
• Coordinate quarterly harness inspection program.
• Track employee training and certifications.

Job Summary

Arctic Testing & Inspection (ATI) is seeking a Nested API 510/570/653/CWI Inspector to support inspection activities at a client facility in the greater Houston area. This position reports to the Houston office and is responsible for performing API inspections, supporting NDE activities, and assisting with the mechanical integrity of piping systems and related equipment while ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes, customer requirements, and company standards. This individual will work closely with unit inspectors, operations personnel, and client representatives to support the integrity and reliability of plant assets. Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform visual inspections in accordance with applicable API standards and company procedures.
• Assist with external inspections of process equipment to support inspection and integrity programs.
• Review and redline Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to ensure accuracy and reflect field conditions.
• Input data in PCMS.
• Support Unit Inspectors with inspection activities, including borescope inspections, PT, UTT, PMI, and other assigned tasks.
• Participate in weekly progress meetings to provide project updates and coordinate inspection activities.
• Attend weekly contractor safety meetings to promote compliance with site safety requirements and communicate project-related safety information.
• Coordinate and maintain the quarterly harness inspection program, ensuring all equipment inspections are completed and documented.
• Track and maintain employee training and certifications, including Safety Essentials, Site-Specific Orientation, Scaffolding, Confined Space, Fresh Air and other required credentials to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Certifications

• API 510, API 570, API 653, and CWI certifications preferred. Candidates with a relevant combination of these certifications are encouraged to apply, even if they do not hold all certifications listed.
• API 580 a plus, but not required.
• PT, UTT & PMI NDE certifications.
• TWIC Card.

Experience & Technical Knowledge

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong RBI background, including circuitization, process loops, damage mechanisms, use of RBI programs, and inspection updates.
• Experience with a mechanical integrity program from start to finish.
• Knowledge of PCMS.
• Knowledge of applicable API codes and industry standards.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and inspection documentation.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and required certifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and client site requirements.

Education

• High school diploma or GED.
