Job summary

BCforward is seeking an API-focused Software Engineer for a 12-month contract in Charlotte, NC. The candidate will lead API services and UI components for the Open Banking channel, integrating with FinTech systems and ensuring scalable, secure data exchange across high-volume platforms.

Required skills include SOAP/REST APIs, OAuth 2, API gateway technologies, and observability tools (Splunk, AppDynamics). Hybrid onsite with strong collaboration across teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SOAP/REST web services, API design, and data exchange.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2 authorization framework and API gateway technologies.
• Experience with monitoring and capacity management concepts, including Splunk and AppDynamics.
• Knowledge of financial industry standards such as OFX, Durable Daa API (DDA), and/or FDX.
• Familiarity with RESTful patterns and secure integration practices.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence for Agile delivery and documentation.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and relationship management skills.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in API services, SOAP/REST web services, OAuth 2, and observability tools and a proven ability to deliver secure, scalable integrations and resilient UI components for high-volume platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design and development of API services and UI components for the Open Banking channel.

Role Logistics

• Approved location: Charlotte, NC. Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.

• Start window: September or October. One to two interview rounds via video. Glider ID verification required.
