Job summary

UP Digital is a specialist in (event) gamification, providing interactive experiences for conferences, corporate events and onboarding. As an API Developer you will design, develop and maintain API links that connect our gamified applications to external services and databases.

You will work with designers, developers and project managers to create scalable API solutions, ensure security and performance, and extend the functionality of our platforms.

Job Description

As an API Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing and maintaining API links that connect our gamified applications to external services, databases and systems. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of designers, developers and project managers to create solutions that enhance the user experience and extend the functionality of our platforms. Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing RESTful APIs used for data exchange and integration with external platforms.
• Writing well-structured and well-documented code in Javascript and others to implement API functionality.
• Testing API links to ensure their reliability, performance and security.
• Integrating external services such as social media, cloud storage and payment gateways with our gamification platforms.
• Analyzing customer needs and developing custom API solutions that meet their requirements.
• Providing technical support to customers and internal teams in using API functionality.

Required Skills And Qualifications

Extensive experience developing APIs, preferably using Node.js, Express and other relevant frameworks.

Strong knowledge of Javascript and experience working with front-end technologies such as React or Angular.

Good understanding of RESTful design principles and API architecture.

Experience integrating third-party APIs and working with OAuth, JWT and other authentication mechanisms.

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a team environment.

A passion for gamification and using technology to create engaging and interactive experiences.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in API development and Javascript code writing.
