Job summary

Acuren is seeking an experienced professional to perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment in accordance with API and ASME standards. You will produce technically accurate reports and provide recommendations for repairs or alterations to ensure safe operation within client parameters.

The role requires API 653 certification, 5–10 years of experience (or 2+ years on site), and on-site field support for petrochemical facilities. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment.
• Deep familiarity with API 653 and ASME standards.
• On-site support and reporting for petrochemical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment as per API/ASME.
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, or alteration for safe operation.
• Offer input on welding and metallurgical issues as required.
• Provide guidance on non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
• Comply with all safety practices and participate in site safety initiatives.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Job description

• At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
• Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
• Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
• Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
• Provide technical guidance, on a application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
• Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives
• Willingness to travel if needed

Requirements

• Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 653
• 5 – 10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
• Additional API 510, 570 or CWI a plus
• In-depth working knowledge of API 653 and ASME standards
• Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers
