Job summary

Adara Living in San Antonio's Medical Center area is seeking an Apartment Make Ready Technician. You will prepare and restore vacant units for new residents, performing minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks to ensure timely turnover.

Candidates must have prior make ready experience, own basic tools, hold a valid driver's license, and live within a 20-mile radius or be willing to relocate. We offer competitive pay, health coverage, PTO, and rental housing discounts.

Qualifications

• Prior apartment make ready experience is REQUIRED.
• Basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and construction repair abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Personal set of basic hand tools.
• Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
• Dependability, strong work ethic, and positive attitude.
• Candidates must live within a 20-mile radius of the property or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and restore vacant apartments for new resident move-ins.
• Perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance and repairs.
• Repair or service items such as sinks, showers, appliances, cabinets, doors, and fixtures.
• Change bulbs; replace light fixtures, switches, outlets, and damaged hardware.
• Inspect locks, keys, and weather stripping; re-key or repair as needed.
• Complete interior and exterior painting and caulking.
• Perform light drywall repairs including patching, texturing, sanding and finishing.
• Assist with grounds upkeep including trash pickup, blowing breezeways, pressure washing, and maintaining clean common areas.
• Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure timely unit turn completion.
• Uphold safety, quality, and cleanliness standards throughout the community.

What You'll Do as an Apartment Make Ready:

Working Environment:

This role requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying items as part of daily porter responsibilities. Team members must be able to lift up to 50 lbs individually and up to 100 lbs with assistance. Work is performed both indoors and within community common areas.
