Job summary

AIR Communities is hiring a Maintenance Technician to work onsite at our Winthrop West community in Riverview, FL. The role focuses on performing basic apartment turns and regular maintenance to ensure a high standard of resident service.

You will troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances while collaborating with a team to support residents and meet community needs. This position requires on-call availability and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Proficient in at least two technical trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, on-call shifts and varied schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to residents and assist team members.
• Complete basic apartment turns to ready units for new residents.
• Perform resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances).
• May provide training/direction to other Maintenance Technicians and support skill development.
• Assist with vendor management and move-in/move-out inspections as needed.

What You Will Do

• Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
• Follow AIR’s process for completion of basic apartment turns to make the apartment ready for the next resident’s perfect move-in experience
• With general direction, complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance (i.e. troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances, etc.)
• May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of technical skills.
• May assist with managing vendor qualityand may perform move-in/move-out inspections.
• Responsibilities vary based on team member skillset and community needs, mechanical systems, and season.

What You Have

• At least 2years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment
• Proficient skills in at least two technical trades(plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
• Ability to work a flexible scheduleincluding evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
• A reliable mode of transportationto respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
• Comfort with physical activityas you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
