Job summary

CVG Properties in Mesa, AZ is seeking a skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. You will work hands-on to prepare apartments for move-ins, perform make-ready tasks, and maintain common areas with a focus on safety and customer service.

The ideal candidate has basic maintenance, HVAC and carpentry skills, is able to work evenings/weekends if required, and can communicate effectively with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of residential/apartment property management experience.
• General maintenance, HVAC and carpentry skills.
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within defined period of hire).
• Yardi experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready turns, including painting, repairs, appliance testing, mechanical work, and carpentry; report maintenance concerns on appliances, HVAC, electrical, and more.
• Report maintenance concerns on available apartments, models, and common areas to the Community Manager.
• Respond to service work orders to make technical repairs or replacements, and assist the maintenance staff as needed.
• Answer and resolve after-hours emergency calls on a rotating schedule with the Maintenance Team.
• Maintain meticulous upkeep of grounds, amenities, and building exteriors, including minor landscaping duties and pressure washing.
• Interact and communicate effectively with residents, property staff, and vendors to complete maintenance duties and requests.
• Observe and promote safety and risk management in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policy.
• Promote resident satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interact courteously and professionally with current and prospective residents at all times.
• Conduct pre-move-in and post-move-out apartment inspections and ensure timely completion of quality unit turns.
