Job summary

GMC Property Management in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician with at least 2 years of property maintenance experience. This full-time role involves make-readies, basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and light repairs across our apartment communities.

You will complete work orders, perform preventive maintenance, assist with grounds duties, and participate in an on-call 24-hour rotation. Valid driver's license is required; background screening conducted.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in the maintenance industry.
• Willing to rotate 24-hour emergency maintenance on-call.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and up-to-date vehicle insurance or reliable transportation.
• Criminal background screening required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in make readies with electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry as needed.
• Complete work orders as directed by Community Manager or Lead Maintenance.
• Repair structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls, and building exteriors.
• Complete preventative maintenance program.
• Complete grounds work such as grounds pick up, sweeping and light landscaping.
• May have working knowledge of HVAC systems and be able to maintain, repair and replace HVAC systems (preferred).
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 2years in the Maintenance Industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist in make readies with electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• One year of property maintenance experience preferred
• Willing to rotate 24-hour emergency maintenance on-call

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work involves daily exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, humidity, wind and precipitation.
• Frequent contact with residents in and outside of their apartment homes including those with disabilities
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk up and downstairs, and able to walk the property in its entirety.
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team, as needed.
