Job summary

Fairstead in the United States is seeking a Maintenance Technician to manage day-to-day property upkeep and protect the asset. You will inspect buildings and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, implement safety policies, and prepare vacated units for new residents.

The role requires mechanical and electrical knowledge, the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, stand for extended periods, and effective verbal and written communication.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures.
• Knowledge of electrical systems to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
• General maintenance skills including preventative tasks.
• Good verbal and written communication for clear information delivery.
• Prior experience as a Service Technician or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the property.
• Apply maintenance policies to prevent misuse of appliances.
• Ensure properties are safe for occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Prepare vacated units for new residents.
• Check electrical wiring for safety and compliance.
• Verify safety systems monthly for operational effectiveness.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain the day-to-day operations and assume responsibility for maintaining the property's physical assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
• Perform necessary preventative maintenance and repairs on the property as needed.
• Implement maintenance policies and standards to prevent misuse of property appliances.
• Ensure that properties are safe and avoid any danger to their occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms for new occupants to move in.
• Check electrical wiring for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Check safety systems and devices for operational effectiveness monthly.
• Participate in the on-call rotation. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance problems that may require attention outside of normal working hours.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures.
• Knowledge of electricity to diagnose electrical problems and carry out minor repairs.
• General maintenance skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills for effective delivery of information.
• Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role.
• HVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift to 70 pounds without assistance.
• Dexterity and attention to detail.

Salary Range: $18 — $20 USD
