Job summary

HRB is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform routine maintenance and repairs across RRHA apartment units and related facilities in Roanoke, VA. The role focuses on electrical, plumbing, structural, appliance, and general tasks, and includes preparing units for new tenants and participating in weekly on-call rotations.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and moderate maintenance experience, with ability to lift up to 100 pounds and operate standard tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Moderate experience in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine structural, plumbing, appliance, and electrical maintenance and repairs in apartment units.
• Prepare apartments for new tenants with necessary repairs and cleanings.
• Operate a standard vehicle to transport equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Maintain and clean apartment units, common areas, and grounds.
• Process work orders and assist with on-call rotation.
• Assist with snow removal and basic landscaping tasks.
