APAC Central Inc., a CRH company, is hiring a Construction Laborer to support diverse paving and earthwork projects. You’ll assist crews, follow safety rules, and help move materials, tools, and signs on site.

The role offers opportunities to advance from General Laborer to paving roles as you learn and prove yourself. We seek motivated, reliable team players aged 18+, able to pass screenings, and willing to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Motivated and reliable team player willing to learn new skills.
• HS diploma or GED preferred for basic qualifications.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
• Flexibility to travel, work nights, weekends and outside local area when required.

Responsabilités

• Follow safety policies and procedures to protect yourself and the crew.
• Comply with OSHA and MSHA regulations for safe job execution.
• Support crews with shoveling, raking, wheelbarrow work, and directing trucks.
• Coordinate with equipment operators using hand signals to move materials.
• Perform daily tasks as directed by the Foreman and adapt to project needs.
• Operate small power tools as needed to build skills on the job.
• Dig, spread, and level construction materials for project results.
• Move and handle materials, tools, and supplies with care.
• Install and remove traffic control devices to keep zones safe.
• Maintain reliable attendance and take on additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Champion a safe work environment by rigorously following all safety policies, procedures, and protocols-your safety and that of your team is our top priority.
• Follow all companies, OSHA, and MSHA regulations for safe and compliant job execution, and promptly report any issues to leadership or safety personnel.
• Support the construction and paving crews with hands-on tasks such as shoveling, raking, operating a wheelbarrow, and directing trucks for safe and precise operations.
• Communicate with equipment operators to ensure seamless movement and alignment of materials using hand signals and tools.
• Execute daily tasks as directed by your Foreman, adapting quickly to the ever-changing demands of the project.
• Operate small power tools (e.g., jackhammers) as needed, improving your technical skill set on the job.
• Dig, spread, and level construction materials for optimal project results.
• Move and handle materials, tools, and supplies with care and efficiency.
• Install, relocate, and remove traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, and cones to keep work zones safe.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance-your presence makes a difference.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned-no two days are ever the same.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in construction is a plus but not required-your attitude and work ethic matter most.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Commitment to following all safety requirements, procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed-your health and safety come first.
• Flexibility to travel, work nights, weekends, and outside of your local area when the job requires it.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools is helpful; willingness to learn is essential.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform manual tasks in all weather and working conditions.

Physical Work Environment Requirements

• Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involvingphysicalagility.
• Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs. as needed.
• Workprimarily outdoors, often in extreme weather andenvironmental conditions.
• Comfortableworking in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loudenvironments.
