Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a qualified IDEA College Prep Teacher in Texas. The role focuses on enabling every student to master academic and social skills essential for college success, while embodying IDEA values daily.

Teachers set ambitious goals, track student data, and adapt daily lessons to meet needs. Opportunities include dual-enrollment, AP, or IB courses to extend college-credit access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field required.
• State teaching certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Deliver content and grade-level instruction and materials.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track student progress with assessments and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate student progress with families weekly.
• Utilize technology as an educational tool to support learning.
• Establish a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive school culture that supports student growth.
• Build strong relationships with students and families based on trust.
• Participate in weekly meetings and after-school duties as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and learning.
• Commit to 40+ hours on-site per week.
• Cover additional duties such as tutoring as required.
