Job summary

BASIS Tucson North seeks a qualified AP English / 7th Grade Writing / Yoga Teacher to deliver advanced instruction aligned with BASIS Curriculum.

The role emphasizes high-level subject teaching, collaboration with fellow educators, and managing classroom behavior to foster academic and personal growth. A Bachelor's degree in the subject or related credentials, plus IVP clearance, are required, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter (or 24+ credit hours in applicable subject matter with other degree).
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade-specific lesson plans.
• Provide instruction at a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive setting.
• Design lessons and assessments aligned with BASIS Curriculum to ensure international competitiveness.
• Collaborate with BASIS teachers to develop curriculum and share best practices.
• Tutor students to raise academic trajectories and skills.
• Manage student behavior to foster achievement, responsibility, and respect.
• Support non-instructional duties such as early/late bird and lunch.
• Maintain regular, full attendance.
• Supervise individual students or groups.
