Job summary

Direct Jobs is looking for a full-time staff pathologist to work at a partner hospital in Kauai, Hawaii. Job description

Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications

Full‑time staff pathologist required to work at our partner hospital on the island of Kauai. Candidates must be board certified in AP/CP and possess strong surgical pathology/cytopathology skills, with clinical lab experience or experience as a Medical Director of a lab section. Minimum of 3 to 5 years post‑residency is preferred. Excellent leadership and communication skills are required due to frequent interaction with physicians, hospital administration, and laboratory staff. Subspecialty fellowship training is welcomed and may receive special consideration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform frozen sections
  • Sign out surgical (non‑gyn) and cytology cases
  • Process peripheral smears
  • Perform autopsies
  • Collaborate with clinical lab personnel to ensure high‑quality laboratory services using best practices in laboratory medicine
  • Support laboratory and hospital quality improvement and accreditation initiatives
  • Provide consultations to clinicians
Minimum Requirements
