Job summary

Qualifications

• Required: 30 semester or 45 quarter units including 12/15 in psychology, sociology, counseling, chemical dependency, or related field.
• Certification as Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counselor from an approved organization; must be maintained.
• Possession of a valid California driver’s license if required by the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and administer assessment tools to determine addiction severity and level of care; assign clients to programs or counselors.
• Plan and conduct individual and group counseling; develop and evaluate treatment plans and progress.
• Maintain client records, progress notes, and reports; coordinate with courts, law enforcement, and other agencies.
