The Opportunity:

Direct experience using the Air Operations Center (AOC) baseline systems and data flows for air campaign execution, monitoring, and assessment in support of offensive and defensive operations. Familiarity with the Joint Data Network Operations (JDNO) and targeting. Familiarity with AOC variances, operational and training networks, and theater Command and Control (C2) system requirements and the operational capability gaps that drive them.

Operational AOC experience within the last 5 years in Combat Plans, Combat Operations, and/or Strategy Division working to support real world operations is a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities:
  • Deep understanding of the AOC mission threads, tasks, and functions as defined in Air Force Manual 13-1AOC Volumes 1, 2, and 3, applicable AFOTTPs, and as taught at the AOC FTU courses
  • AOC positional expertise as described below is less than five years old (positional currency)
  • Ability to decompose operational problems into discrete mission threads, activities, and effects that can be exercised, tested, and measured
  • Skills in documenting and analyzing workflows, data flows, and system interactions to support integration, and delivery of new systems and/or capabilities to the AOC Enterprise
  • Experience supporting Warfighter Analysis Working Groups, Requirements Working Groups, and Technical Interchange/Exchange Meetings (TIMs/TEMs)
  • Experience with interacting with and briefing senior officers and civilian leadership
  • Documented ability to support the Weapon Systems Team (WST)/WST chief to organize input from operators, engineers, testers, leadership, and other technical and non-technical stakeholders for independent Government decision making.
  • Ability to translate warfighter operational needs to requirements
  • Experience working with staff analysts, system engineers, and architects to ensure operational requirements are mapped to feasible technical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to build and present decision quality information including read-ahead material for senior leaders, After Action Reports, and other staffing documents
  • Strong analytical skills to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities in mission capabilities and proposed solutions
  • Experience with standard office and collaboration tools is critical. Familiarity and experience with the AOC Weapon Systems management processes (ex. Configuration management) and the tools used to manage those processes (ex. AQIRA/JIRA, TDCS, EDS, etc.) is highly desired
