Job summary

Maison D’enfants Llc. is seeking passionate and energetic babysitters for an as-needed Anytime Sitter role in NYC. You will provide safe, nurturing care, engage children with age-appropriate play, reading, and light meal preparation.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of babysitting experience, strong communication, fluency in English, and a warm, professional demeanor. Availability during weekday daytime hours (7am–6pm) is preferred; sessions may vary, with a minimum of four per month.

Job description

We are in search of passionate and energetic "as needed" babysitters with strong childcare experience to join our Anytime Sitter Team ( specifically with weekday, daytime availability between the hours of 7am and 6pm ). As an Anytime Sitter you are responsible for providing safe nurturing care, including age appropriate playing, reading, etc. to the children whose family you are sitting for. Light meal preparation (as requested by the family) and light tidying up of children's areas is also an included responsibility. To be successful in this role, you need to have strong childcare experience, an interest in childcare and be a strong/effective communicator. We are looking for people who are warm and kind, as well as, able to create clear boundaries with a range of different ages.

As this role is an "as needed" role, we are not able to guarantee a certain amount of paid hours per week. We encourage our Anytime Sitters to have other positions outside of MDE and understand if you are not able to work for every session we share with you. That being said, we do have a minimum requirement of scheduling 4 sitting sessions per month in order to stay an active sitter on our team.

Location: NYC (All boroughs)

Start Date: ASAP

Days/Times: Varies depending on request - our current focus is weekday, daytime availability (ideal availability 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday)

Non- Salary Compensation: $25+ per hour (dependent on ages + number of children) paid as a W2 employee bi-weekly

• Authorization to work in the US
• At least 3 years of previous babysitting or nanny experience, ideally across all ages
• A well-suited demeanor for working with children
• Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
• Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to childcare (children's meal prep, organizing toys, etc.)
• A professional appearance
• Fluency in both oral and written English

Additional qualifications we look for:

• Related training and certifications such as First Aid, CPR & AED, early childhood education, defensive driving, water safety certification, NCS, special needs, etc.
• A four-year college degree from an accredited university
• Driver's license
• Special needs experience, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Fluency in one or more foreign language
• Education or equivalent knowledge in the milestones/stages of childhood growth and development
