Job summary

Costco in North Canton, OH is seeking a frontline team member to greet members and provide high levels of service at the front end. The role includes helping customers load orders, placing items on conveyors, and assisting with self-checkouts when needed.

Employees perform department setup/closing tasks, stock shelves, and ensure cleanliness and safety across the front-end area. Availability to meet business needs is required, with proof of work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Greets members, helps members load orders onto the conveyor, answers questions, explains promotions, assists cashier by counting items left in cart.
• Packs orders into boxes, checks packaging for tampering, follows safety procedures, assists members loading orders into their cars when needed.
• May assist members with self-checkouts, scanning, and item lookup.
• Maintains cleanliness of the front-end area, clears spills, and sets up/cleans up the department at shift changes.
• Transfers pallets, stocks shelves, and ensures correct product signage and pricing.

Position Summary

Job Duties

• Greets members, helps members load order onto conveyor belt, determines member packing preferences, answers questions, relates information on special promotions, thanks members, assists cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items and positioning them for scanning.
• Packs member orders into boxes and loads to a separate cart or flatbed. Checks packaging for tampering. Follow all safety and security procedures. Follows proper departmental procedures for performance of duties. Assists members loading orders into the car when appropriate.
• May assist members with self checkouts with regards to scanning heavy merchandise, entering in items numbers.
• May assist members with self checkouts through monitoring the registers for errors and keeping the belt area clean of product and debris.
• Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front-end area. Cleans spills and trip hazards immediately.
• Performs set up and closing duties for the department, such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning area.
• Transfers pallets of merchandise from the receiving area to the steel shelves and bulk wall for storage, or directly to the sales floor.
• Assists with stocking. Clears sales floor debris. Observes and ensures correct product signage; creates computer-generated signs. Labels unmarked product with item number.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
