Job summary

Elijahhouseliving in Covington, WA is seeking a customer-focused team member to greet members, assist with loading orders, and maintain a clean front-end area, as part of daily store operations. You will help with stocking, set up and closing duties, monitoring safety, and assisting in self-checkouts when needed, while ensuring accurate promotions and friendly service to members.

Responsibilities

• Greets members, provides high level of member service and assists cashier, counts items left in cart, and positions items for scanning.
• Packs orders into boxes, checks packaging for tampering, and helps with loading orders and setup/closing duties.
• Assists with self-checkouts and monitors registers for errors while keeping belt area clean and organized.
• Maintains cleanliness of front-end area, cleans spills, observes safety procedures, and handles signage and labeling.
• Transports pallets within warehouse areas and assists in stocking and department duties as needed.

Position Summary

Actively greets members, provides a high level of member service, performs clean up, department set-up and closing tasks as necessary.

Job Duties

• Greets members, helps members load order onto conveyor belt, determines member packing preferences, answers questions, relates information on special promotions, thanks members, assists cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items and positioning them for scanning.
• Packs member orders into boxes and loads to a separate cart or flatbed. Checks packaging for tampering. Follow all safety and security procedures. Follows proper departmental procedures for performance of duties. Assists members loading orders into the car when appropriate.
• May assist members with self checkouts with regards to scanning heavy merchandise, entering in items numbers.
• May assist members with self checkouts through monitoring the registers for errors and keeping the belt area clean of product and debris.
• Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front-end area. Cleans spills and trip hazards immediately.
• Performs set up and closing duties for the department, such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning area.
• Transfers pallets of merchandise from the receiving area to the steel shelves and bulk wall for storage, or directly to the sales floor.
• Assists with stocking. Clears sales floor debris. Observes and ensures correct product signage; creates computer-generated signs. Labels unmarked product with item number.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
