Job summary

An international AmLaw 50 firm is seeking an Antitrust & Competition Associate Attorney in its Washington, DC office. This role offers exposure to merger reviews, government investigations, antitrust litigation, and compliance counseling across diverse industries.

Ideal candidates hold a JD from a top-tier law school, DC bar admission, and 3–4 years of post‑JD antitrust experience, including litigation, merger reviews, and regulatory investigations.

Qualifications

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC, in good standing.
  • 3-4 years of post-JD antitrust and competition law experience.
  • Experience handling antitrust litigation matters, merger review matters, and regulatory investigations.
  • Experience representing clients before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and state attorneys general preferred.
  • Knowledge of merger clearance processes, cartel investigations, and government enforcement actions.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional writing, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients and government agencies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in antitrust litigation matters in federal and state courts.
  • Assist with merger clearance reviews and related regulatory filings.
  • Advise clients during investigations conducted by the FTC, DOJ, and state attorneys general.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis involving complex competition law issues.
  • Draft motions, briefs, agency submissions, white papers, and client memoranda.
  • Support internal and government investigations involving antitrust concerns.
  • Counsel clients on antitrust compliance and risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to support transactional and litigation matters.
  • Monitor developments in antitrust enforcement and competition policy.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside leading antitrust practitioners on some of the most significant merger reviews, government investigations, antitrust litigation matters, and compliance counseling engagements in the marketplace.

The successful candidate will advise sophisticated multinational clients at the intersection of business, government, and regulation while gaining exposure to cutting-edge competition issues across a wide range of industries.

Candidate Profile
  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC , in good standing
  • 3-4 years of post-JD experience (excluding judicial clerkships) in antitrust and competition law
  • Experience handling antitrust litigation matters, merger review matters, and regulatory investigations

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: Salary range**$260,000 - $420,000,** commensurate with experience and qualifications.
