Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to provide advanced clinical and distributive medication management across clinical areas. You will contribute to guidelines, new programs, and staff education, while serving as a resource to the pharmacy team.

The role emphasizes evidence-based drug therapy, collaboration with physicians and nurses, and ongoing professional development. Monday–Friday day shift and patient-centered care are core to this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required; Doctoral degree in Pharmacy preferred.
• Massachusetts Pharmacist registration is required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Completion of PGY1 accredited residency or 3+ years hospital clinical pharmacy experience.
• Must obtain CSP, BCPS, or BCACP within 18 months of hire.
• Understanding of insurance adjudication processes and basic MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Practices pharmacy in accordance with applicable laws and departmental policies.
• Monitors patients in a unit/specialty, collects data, interprets labs, and sets goals of therapy.
• Develops ambulatory pharmacy programs and services; conducts drug use evaluations and clinic development.
• Under protocol, initiates or adjusts drug therapy based on patient data and monitoring.
• Documents clinical interventions in the electronic health record in a timely manner.
• Coordinates laboratory monitoring and evaluates drug therapy outcomes.
• Coordinates continuing education and orients new staff to pharmacy practices.
• Precepts PGY1/PGY2 residents and pharmacy students; mentors staff.
