Job summary

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte is seeking a Director of Annual Giving to plan, organize, and supervise the annual Diocesan Support Appeal and related campaigns. This leader will coordinate donor outreach, communications, and stewardship across parishes and schools.

The role works closely with pastors, parish leaders, and diocesan staff to sustain gifts, ensure timely reporting, and manage budgets. Travel within the diocese is expected as part of outreach and stewardship initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of fundraising, stewardship and marketing experience required.
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate fundraising activities; create written materials.
• Strong oral and written communication; liaison to diocesan and regional boards.
• Ability to train volunteers and work with staff, volunteers, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Directs and has primary responsibility for all Diocesan Support Appeal activities.
• Promotes Priests’ Retirement and Benefits annual diocesan appeal.
• Manages second collections and coordinates with USCCB offices.
• Maintains donor relations through visits, calls, and email.
• Oversees communication efforts and web content for the Development Office.
• Oversees database maintenance and roster updates.
• Prepares timely status reports on appeal performance and finances.
• Assists stewardship committees and trains lay witnesses for stewardship efforts.
• Develops relationships with clergy, schools, staff, and volunteers.
• Organizes Diocesan-wide stewardship events and regional conferences.
