Job summary

Sony Pictures Animation is seeking a Publicist to join our Publicity/Digital team in Los Angeles. Reporting to the SVP of Publicity/Digital, you will help develop and execute publicity campaigns across the upcoming slate of feature films and series.

The ideal candidate brings entertainment publicity experience, strong media instincts, and the ability to collaborate with filmmakers, talent, executives, studio partners and external agencies to tell compelling stories behind our productions.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4+ years of entertainment publicity/media relations experience.
• Experience contributing to publicity campaigns for film/TV or entertainment projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience drafting pitches and press materials.
• Ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines and priorities.
• Experience supporting talent, filmmakers and executives in publicity environments.
• Familiarity with digital media and social platforms; ability to extend campaigns across channels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute publicity campaigns for Sony Pictures Animation films and series.
• Manage day-to-day publicity activities across multiple projects and timelines.
• Build relationships with media across entertainment, trade, consumer, animation, and digital outlets.
• Identify compelling stories and publicity opportunities with filmmakers, talent and artists.
• Draft press releases, pitches, talking points, briefing documents and media alerts.
• Coordinate interviews, screenings, premieres, festivals, and other publicity events.
• Prepare talent and executives for press opportunities with briefing materials and logistics.
• Collaborate with production teams to showcase behind-the-scenes storytelling moments.
• Work with Digital PR and social teams to extend publicity moments online.
