Job description

Currently, I have an opening for an Animal Technician located in Lexington, MA. Details for the position are as follows:
Technical Information:
  1. Pay: $20-23 hourly
  2. Schedule: Onsite, M-F, 40 hours per week - occasional weekends required
  3. Contract: 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion
Qualifications:
  • GED, HS diploma, AS, or BS graduate with hands-on experience in animal/rodent handling, sample collection, and/or dosing.
Job Description:
  • Perform high-level animal handling, dosing, sample collection, and data recording.
  • Contribute technical assistance to research projects in the NNRC rodent facility.
  • Collaborate with technical and scientific team members, Laboratory Animal Sciences staff, Lab Operations, Research Associates, and Research Scientists both locally and globally.
  • Review, understand, and adhere to all SOPs and quality assurance standards related to laboratory animals.
  • Handle rodents and perform in-life measurements.
  • Conduct bleeding and sample collection procedures.
  • Dose animals via PO, IP, and SC routes.
  • Perform and record daily food and health checks on pharmacology studies.
  • Experience with animal anesthesia and euthanasia.
  • Monitor post-procedural and post-surgical recovery.
  • Collect samples, perform necropsies, and tissue collection.
