Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Learns how to review study protocol and ensure tasks and data for pre-clinical studies are conducted per protocols, SOPs, GLPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Learns to generate study forms and worksheets.
  • Receives training in dose administration, sample collection, handling and restraint of multiple species.
  • Learns to record observations and collect data via data capture systems or hand-generated forms per GLPs, SOPs, and protocol.
  • Learns to recognize deviations and document with assistance.
  • Learns to plan workload and schedule assignments.
  • Learns to review data and identify potential problems.
  • Safely work with potentially hazardous substances including teratogens or carcinogens.

Additional experience may substitute for lack of High School diploma. College level courses may substitute for 6 months experience.Strong attention to detail.Familiarity with basic computer applications such as email, MS Word and Excel.**Corporate Responsibilities:**· Adherence to laboratory health and safety· Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)· Adherence to applicable company policies and guidelines· Adherence to federal and/or local regulations as applicable**Essential Position Responsibilities:**· Learns how to review study protocol and ensure study tasks and data for pre-clinical research studies are conducted in accordance with established protocols, SOPs, GLPs, and other pertinent regulatory requirements.· Learns how to generate study forms and worksheets.· Receives extensive training in various technical procedures including dose administration, sample collection, handling and restraint of multiple species.· Learns to perform and document observations on study animals.· Learns to record observations and collect other relevant data via data capture systems and/or hand-generated forms in accordance with GLPs, SOPs, and protocol.**Additional Position Responsibilities (if applicable):**· Learns to recognize deviations, informs appropriately and documents with assistance.· Learns to plan assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedule multiple assignments.· Learns to review own data and identifies potential problems.· Learns to serve as head technician for a basic study. Performs protocol review in preparation for and attends PI meetings.· Identifies process improvements and may write SOPs with assistance.· Safely work with potentially hazardous substances including potential/known teratogens, carcinogens and/or radiolabeled test materials.· Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented atmosphere and work independently when necessary.· Other duties as assigned.**Additional Requirements:**· Overtime, weekend and holiday work as required.· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.· Effective written and oral communication skills.· Demonstrated immunological tolerance to animals.· Work requires passing pulmonary function test, annual physical and the use of other PPE (personal protective equipment) **Professional Responsibilities:(if applicable)**· Prepares for ALAT certification. *The pay range estimated for this position is $21.06 - $25.24 per hour. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.**\\*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
