Job summary

Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA seeks an Animal Control Officer to respond to stray animals, assist law enforcement, and educate the public on animal welfare. The role requires flexible hours, a background in customer service, and the ability to work in high-stress situations.

The position is non-exempt and part of the union workforce. Responsibilities include field rescues, investigations, report writing, and coordination with veterinary teams.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
• Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond to stray animals and determine disposition.
• Humane capture of wildlife; transport or euthanasia as directed.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports and memos daily.
• Educate the public on animal welfare issues and PHS/SPCA policies.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other agencies as needed.
