Job summary

Zoo New England is seeking a Commissary Technician to support animal care by preparing diets and managing inventories across our Franklin Park and Stone Zoos. The role involves daily deliveries, safety compliance, and coordinating with the commissary supervisor and veterinarians.

The position requires weekend, holiday, and occasional overtime availability. Applicants should be physically able to lift over 50 lbs, hold a valid driver's license, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams.
• Must be 18+ with valid driver's license and clean record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare animal diets as directed by supervisor and veterinarians using standard techniques.
• Ensure safety and sanitation per OSHA, USDA, AZA and local health rules.
• Receive, inspect, and log deliveries; manage inventory and report issues.
• Deliver food items to animal areas and transport supplies between zoo campuses.
• Work near animals without direct contact, following safety guidelines.
