Job summary

Lindsay Wildlife Experience seeks a dedicated Animal Keeper to support the daily operations of the Animal Encounters Department. The role includes animal care, enrichment, and assisting with public programming alongside the Education team.

The candidate will work with diverse California native ambassadors and help maintain high standards of care, training, and guest experience, including event participation and off-site programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in zoology, biology, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year full-time animal care experience.
• Experience in public speaking related to environmental education preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be 18+ and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support daily husbandry and animal care with staff and interns.
• Aid in public programming and exhibit hall events.
• Maintain documentation and digital records.
• Assist with compliance with USDA and Fish & Wildlife regulations.
• Mentor interns and volunteers.
