Job summary

Clinvet NY is hiring a dedicated Animal Facilities Support Technician to assist with the maintenance of animal rooms and caging, and to set up study rooms for experiments at Clinvet NY in Waverly, NY. The role involves standing, moving, and lifting for extended periods, with routine cleaning, waste removal, and sanitization of animal areas.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a schedule of 7:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends or outside-hours work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with lab animals or animal facility operations preferred but not required.

Position Overview

To assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of animal rooms and caging as well as study room set up and breakdown.

This position will routinely be standing, moving, and lifting for extended periods of time. Day-to-day activities include physical work such as removal of animal and general waste, sanitization of animal areas, moving of animal food and bedding, and the maintenance/upkeep of animal areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Removal of animal and general waste.
• Sanitization and decontamination of animal areas before and after studies.
• Transport of animal food and bedding.
• To perform set up and breakdown of study rooms.
• Maintenance and upkeep of animal cages and animal rooms.
• Transportation of animals.

Qualifications & Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with lab animals or animal facility operations preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maneuver 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work the duration of an eight-hour shift, on your feet, in constant motion.
• The employee is required to communicate effectively by talking, listening, reading, and writing in a professional manner.
• At all times, be sober and clear of influence of any substances including alcohol and legal recreational drugs, which may affect the ability of user, safety of animals and other staff members, and work quality in any manner.

Compensation & Benefits

• $16.00-$18.00 / hour

Additional Information

• Animal Facility Support is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.
• This position's work schedule is Monday - Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm. On occasion this position can be asked to work on weekends or outside of regular working hours.
• Our facility is USDA-licensed and AAALAC-accredited
