Osceola County seeks an Animal Control Officer to enforce local and state animal laws, respond to calls, trap and transport animals, and participate in court proceedings. On-call duties include evenings and weekends. Certification in euthanasia and animal control within one year is required.

Spanish language ability is a plus. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of hands-on animal experience, and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year experience in an animal control/services organization or animal veterinary clinic with hands-on animal experience.
• Must reside within 25 miles of Osceola County and respond when on-call.
• Euthanasia and Animal Control Officer Certification within one (1) year of hire.
• Valid Florida driver’s license required.
• English and Spanish language ability a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Explain Animal Control Ordinance to the public and advise on animal ownership responsibilities.
• Respond to calls and investigate complaints of injured or nuisance animals.
• Load, deliver, set and bait animal traps; remove animals from traps and streets.
• Investigate cruelty complaints and seize animals; transport to vet and issue citations as needed.
• Gather information for court cases and prepare paperwork; appear in court when required.
• Prepare incident reports, maintain logs and records; complete various forms.
• Be on-call; work evenings and weekends.
• Issue citations for violations; perform euthanasia after certification.
• Assist Kennel Staff as needed.
• Collaborate with volunteers and maintain professional relationships.
