Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Bethesda, MD is seeking an Animal Care Technician I to join the Insourcing Solutions team. You will work with research animals to ensure their well-being and proper husbandry, including feeding, cage cleaning, and daily health checks.

The role requires six months of animal experience and ALAT certification within 1–2 years of eligibility; a high school diploma is preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday, with some weekends/holidays as needed.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Bethesda, MD.

As the Animal Care Technician I, you will work with our research animals to ensure they are well cared for.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician I position:

  • Six months of animal experience (e.g., dog walking, pet sitting, kennel attendant, vet assistant, farm hand, 4-H background, pet store worker)
  • Must be successful in obtaining the ALAT (Assistant Lab Animal Technician) Certification within 1-2 years of eligibility
  • High school diploma/GED preferred

The pay for this position is22/hour USD per hour. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7AM-3:30PM. You must be available some weekend and holidays if necessary.
