Job summary

TalentCraft, partnering with a US-based technology company, is seeking an Animal Care Technician in the Raleigh, NC area to support research and development with a focus on animal welfare.

You will perform routine inspections, document observations, provide basic care, maintain cages, ensure cleanliness, and safely handle rodents. Experience with in vivo procedures and SOP compliance is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 1–3+ years of relevant laboratory animal care experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the well-being of animals involved in research and development.
• Perform routine room inspections to evaluate animal health and cage conditions, with meticulous documentation.
• Document clinical observations according to established standards.
• Provide basic animal care including receiving animals and maintaining cages.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in work areas.
• Safely handle and restrain rodents.
• Assist with in vivo studies (oral gavage, injections, blood collection, necropsy).
• Carry out rodent euthanasia and proper disposal of remains.
• Utilize procedures and systems, including SOPs and computer applications.
• Execute procedures in compliance with protocols, regulations, and laboratory standards.

Responsibilities

• - The Animal Care Technician will oversee the well-being of animals involved in research and development endeavors, with primary duties encompassing:
• - Performing routine room inspections to evaluate animal health and cage conditions, along with meticulous documentation and record-keeping.
• - Conducting and documenting clinical observations according to established standards.
• - Providing basic animal care, including receiving animals and maintaining cages.
• - Ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in work areas.
• - Safely handling and restraining rodents.
• - Proficiency in various techniques to support in vivo studies, such as oral gavage, injections, blood collection, and necropsy.
• - Carrying out rodent euthanasia and proper disposal of animal remains.
• - Utilizing available resources and systems effectively, including standard operating procedures and computer applications.
• - Executing procedures in compliance with protocols, regulations, and laboratory standards.

Qualifications

• - A high school diploma or GED, coupled with 1-3+ years of relevant experience in laboratory animal care and technical skills as specified, is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• -Prior experience with IP (Intraperitoneal) and SQ (Subcutaneous) injections.
• -Prior experience with mouse IV tail injections.
• -Prior experience with isoflurane anesthesia.
