Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Lake County, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist, Animal Care to support humane care and use of animals in production and research. You will handle animal care, assist in facility maintenance, and ensure procedures meet product specifications, volume, cost, and quality standards.

The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs, experience with livestock is desirable, and a background in animal science or a related field is helpful.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s in animal science, facility management or engineering preferred.
• Experience with maintaining or operating heavy farm equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily animal health monitoring, care, and enrichment for farm and lab animals.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and animal care staff on welfare needs.
• Maintain animal health, husbandry and procedure records.
• Operate production equipment safely and record daily production data.
