Job summary

Miami County Animal Shelter is seeking a dedicated aide to clean, sanitize, and maintain kennels and cages, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for animals. You will feed, water, and gently handle animals while performing daily cleaning tasks and laundry.

Regular attendance and adherence to safety rules are essential. The role supports a structured schedule, with a Monday–Friday shift, and includes comprehensive benefits and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Completion of four (4) years of high school or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions in various formats, recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action.
• Recognize and apply safety warnings, work as part of a team, demonstrate strength to lift up to fifty (50) lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial duties involving physical labor and uses cleaning tools to sanitize kennels and run areas.
• Provides feed and water to animals and handles them gently while cleaning the kennel area.
• Cleans kennels, feeding dishes, bedding, toys, and laundry daily and adheres to safety standards.
• Meets all job safety requirements and attends work regularly.
