Job summary

CityVet Ruffit by CityVet is seeking an Animal Care Assistant to provide compassionate care for our animal patients. The ACA will house, bathe, walk, feed, and enrich the animals while ensuring social interaction with humans and other species as appropriate.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, a high school diploma or GED, and a minimum age of 18. CityVet offers strong benefits, opportunities for growth, and a supportive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide all animals with appropriate housing, bathing, walking, food, water, bedding, toys and other mental stimulation and enrichment, social interaction with humans and, where appropriate, members of their own species.
• Monitor health, physically and behaviorally, and rapidly identify any issues or changes that may require action and report to supervisor immediately.
• Accurately record and maintain patient records while the animal is under care, including vital sign measurements.

The Animal Care Assistant (ACA) acts as the primary care provider for all animals under our supervision. The ACA works to ensure the professional, conscientious, compassionate care of all animals under our care at the facility are met by meeting both the physical and behavioral needs of all patients. The Animal Care Attendant provides a high standard of cleanliness to our people and their pets by frequently servicing the cages, runs and exam rooms to ensure optimal levels of sanitation.

A day in the life:
