Job summary

Roanoke County, VA is seeking an Animal Care Attendant to provide humane treatment of all animals and to maintain a clean, safe shelter environment. The role includes processing intakes, collecting adoption fees, and guiding the public on lost/found animals.

The incumbent will support admissions, assist with adoptions, maintain ShelterNet records, and coordinate with the Rescue and Foster Coordinators. The position requires a valid rabies vaccination or willingness to obtain one and compliance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Some service related experience is required; experience working with animals and customer service is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain certification to perform euthanasia of animals.

Responsibilities

• Provide humane treatment of all animals at all times.
• Clean kennels and general areas of the Center.
• Process intake of strays and owner relinquished animals into ShelterNet database.
• Collect fees related to redeemed animals and adoptions.
• Provide phone support for shelter questions and guidance for lost/found animals.
