Job summary

City of Aurora's Animal Services is seeking a dedicated team member to provide humane care, handling, feeding, grooming and enrichment for shelter animals. The role supports kennels, intake processing and daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: One year of animal-related or customer service experience.
• Preferred: One year in an animal shelter.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Colorado Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide humane care, treatment and safe handling of animals in the shelter, including feeding, grooming and enrichment.
• Degrease all interior and exterior kennel walls.
• Sweep and mop all floors daily.
• Intake animals left in the night drop kennels and sanitizes kennel once empty.
• Assists in kenneling and movement of animals and updates animal records to reflect movement or change in status.
• Responds to citizen emails and provides information on Aurora Animal Services.
