Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a frontend/backend developer to build and maintain ICE BI applications within the Data Analytics segment.

You will work with Angular on the frontend and C#/.NET on the backend, leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure software and participate in code reviews, including AI-generated code, to ensure correctness and security throughout

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years frontend development using Angular.
• 3+ years backend development with C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Strong TypeScript/HTML5/CSS3 and RxJS skills.
• Experience with Entity Framework and SQL Server.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and Git workflows, including AI-aware practices.
• Hands-on experience with at least one AI coding assistant.
• Knowledge of CSLA framework.
• Awareness of AI limitations and security risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web applications using Angular (v18+).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services using C# and ASP.NET Core/.NET 4.8.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver user-friendly features.
• Optimize application performance and ensure scalability across frontend and backend layers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews, including reviewing AI-authored commits for correctness and security.
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate boilerplate/unit-test generation and refactor code.
• Ensure safe use of AI, avoid exposing sensitive data or IP.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack.
• Stay current with AI tooling and best practices.

Overview

Job Purpose

This role focuses on the front-end development for the ICE BI application, which is part of the Data Analytics segment. The application delivers tailored business functionality, allowing users to view data in multiple reporting formats and take corrective actions or streamline workflows based on the insights provided.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using Angular for the frontend and C#/.NET for the backend, while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery without sacrificing code quality. The resource will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web applications usingAngular (v18+).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services usingC# and ASP.NET Core / .NET 4.8.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver user-friendly features.
• Optimize application performance and ensure scalability across frontend and backend layers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Participate in code reviews, including reviewingAI-generated codefor correctness, security, and adherence to project conventions.
• Effectively use AI coding assistants(e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to:
  • Accelerate boilerplate and unit-test generation
  • Refactor legacy code under human supervision
  • Generate technical documentation and code comments where they add clarity
  • Diagnose stack traces and produce reproduction steps faster
• Applysound judgment on when AI should and should not be used, recognize hallucinations, validate generated SQL/code before committing, and never paste sensitive data, secrets, or proprietary IP into public AI tools.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, AI tooling, and best practices.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ yearsof frontend development using Angular.
• 3+ yearsof backend development using C# and ASP.NET Core.
• Strong understanding of TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RxJS.
• Experience with Entity Framework and SQL Server.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) , including AI-aware workflows (e.g., reviewing AI-authored commits, branch hygiene).
• Knowledge of CSLA framework.
• Hands-on experience with at least one AI coding assistantintegrated into a daily development workflow.
• Awareness of AI limitations, model hallucinations, knowledge cutoffs, security/IP risks of pasting code into external services.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Other General Skills

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
