As an Anesthesiology Physician, you will play a crucial role in patient care, providing anesthesia services across a variety of procedures. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes while working in a fast‑paced and supportive setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical and medical procedures
• Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary
• Communicate with surgical teams to coordinate anesthesia care
• Conduct pre‑anesthesia assessments and post‑anesthesia care
• Educate patients about anesthesia procedures and post‑operative care
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
• Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology and best practices
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements

• Specialty: General Anesthesiology
• Coverage Dates: Immediate start – 6‑month assignment with potential extension, full‑time commitment only
• Setting: Hospital environment
• Shifts/Schedule: Primarily Sunday to Monday, averaging 4‑5 shifts of 10 hours each per week (7 AM – 5 PM). Mandatory participation in at least one weekend per month and availability for 2 out of 3 holiday weeks.
• Daily Responsibilities: Deliver general anesthesia primarily for general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, with occasional minor neuro cases (though infrequent). No obstetric or cardiac anesthesia will be involved.
• Pediatric Cases: The provider will be responsible for a limited number of standard pediatric cases. The facility employs CRNAs; therefore, candidates should be prepared for occasional assistance with anesthesia delivery.
• Call Schedule: No call responsibilities.
• Patient Volume: Estimated case load is typically 4‑6 cases per shift, contingent on the designated area.
• Staffing: Multiple anesthesiologists and CRNAs will be present for shifts. Limited CRNA oversight, if applicable.
• Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days from application submission.
• Required Certifications: Board Certified; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified (American Heart Association standards).
