UTMB Health is seeking an Anesthesiology faculty member to support teaching, research, and patient care across UTMB’s campuses including Angleton Danbury, Lake Jackson, Clear Lake, League City, and Galveston.

The role requires graduation from an approved medical school, completion of residency, and Texas medical licensure with BC/BE status. Open rank/open track; commensurate with experience.

  • Texas Medical license without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including anesthesiology, pre-op, and post-op services.
  • Participate in teaching activities in the Department, including conferences and lectures, and supervise house staff in the operating room.
  • Engage in continuing medical education and participate in local, regional, and national meetings.
  • Assume administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in departmental and Health System committees.

Anesthesiology - Open Rank/Open Track Faculty

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology and assist in fulfilling UTMB’s threefold mission.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology and assist in fulfilling UTMB's threefold mission. The person is responsible for providing direct patient care, including anesthesiology, pre-op services, and post-op services. He/She participates in all teaching activities in the Department, including conferences and lectures, teaching in the operating rooms; house staff supervision in the operating room; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings. Students include medical students and house staff. In addition, the person in this position will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the departmental and Health System level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should be a graduate of an approved medical school, have completed an approved residency training program, be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Anesthesiology, and have a Texas Medical license without restrictions.

Commensurate with experience.
